Using XEN on Jaunty

I've being looking into running XEN on my boxes as I have VT enable Intel chips. I've been using VMware for some time and finding that it's getting Bl00ated so was looking fo other options.

I tried out Sun's new Virtual Box and I was very impressed with it as a whole.

Not had a chance to test out KVM as yet, I'll probably try both and see which I prefer.

Giving XEN a go

The nearest to a HOWTO I could find today was this : http://www.infohit.net/blog/post/running-xen-on-ubuntu-intrepid-and-jaunty.html, which is as good as any. However, the shear lack of "howtos" on the topic makes me reluctant to use Ubuntu as the Host (dom0), I might revert to gentoo for the hypervisor or CentOS, I've also downloaded an tiny ISO of Debian (Lenny).

Head down and on with Ubuntu

Well I've decided to re-install my ubuntu after trying KVM. Here's my progress installing XEN on ubuntu jaunty / 9.04

I've had real trouble finding any real recommendation for a dom0 distro, surly there must be a "XEN enabled" distro that we can use as the dom0 "out-of-the-box".

Time to have another search

Some Resources

I've found a few Howtos on the XEN wiki I'll hae a read through to see what's available.
